Patrick Haughey is an experienced diplomat currently serving as Ambassador of Ireland to Poland since July 2018, with prior roles in the Department of Foreign Affairs, including Director for both the Middle East and the Humanitarian Unit. From April 2011 to August 2020, Patrick held significant positions at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, such as Head of the Political Section at the British Embassy in Israel, and First Secretary Political, managing various political and military issues. Earlier experience includes serving as a member of the UN Committee on Contributions and leading the Economic Section at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where economic analysis and trade relations, particularly between the UK and Russia, were key responsibilities. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.
