Steven Murphy

Steven Murphy has extensive experience in foreign affairs, compliance management, and research, currently serving as the Deputy Head of Mission and previously as a Desk Officer in the EU Division at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Ireland since November 2019. Prior roles include Compliance Manager at Air Atlanta Icelandic, where Steven ensured adherence to national and international aviation regulations, and International Security Researcher for a NATO-funded project at the University of Iceland. Steven has a Doctor of Philosophy in European History from University College Cork, supplemented by various qualifications in International Relations and Security Studies. Previous roles also encompass teaching, executive leadership at the CSO, and clerical work for An Garda Síochána, showcasing a robust background in academia and public service.
