DFAT’s Equity Hub uses evidence, research and good practice to ensure Australia is a thought leader and partner of choice for progressing gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion in our region and globally.

As part of DFAT’s Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion Branch (GEB), Equity Hub provides a one-stop shop for integrated gender equality, disability equity and social inclusion (GEDSI) advice and other services to DFAT staff. While primarily focused on development and humanitarian assistance, it has capacity to provide some non-development support.

Equity Hub functions as a single portal for the services previously provided by DFAT’s Support Unit for Gender Equality (SURGE) and the DID4All Helpdesk facility, which have now concluded. This LinkedIn page was rebranded from SURGE in May 2026.
