Bas van Dijk is a highly experienced software engineer currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer and Team Lead at DFINITY, focusing on building the Internet Computer since February 2019. Prior to this, Bas co-owned and served as the CTO of LumiGuide from November 2014 to March 2023, where responsibilities included guiding the technical direction and recruiting talent while working on software infrastructure with advanced technologies like Haskell and Nix. Bas also contributed as the first employee and Software Engineer at Better from January 2012 to December 2014, developing backend systems for an e-learning platform used by large clients such as American Express and Swissport. Earlier experience includes foundational work as a Software Engineer at Sensor Sense from January 2004 to December 2011, focusing on embedded software in Haskell and C, as well as application development in Python.
