Dr Frederic Stahl

Interim Head Of Marine Perception Research Department at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI)

Dr. Frederic Stahl has extensive work experience in the field of marine perception and artificial intelligence. Dr Frederic is currently serving as the Interim Head of the Marine Perception Research Department at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since March 2023. Prior to this, they were the Deputy Head of Marine Perception at DFKI from November 2019 to February 2023.

Before joining DFKI, Dr. Stahl held academic positions at various institutions. Dr Frederic worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Reading from August 2017 to October 2019, and as a Lecturer from December 2012 to July 2017. Dr Frederic also worked as a Lecturer at Bournemouth University from February 2012 to November 2012.

Additionally, Dr. Stahl served as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Portsmouth from February 2010 to February 2012. Dr Frederic started their career as an intern at the University of Ulster in the United Kingdom in 2006.

Dr Frederic Stahl completed their education in a variety of fields. From 2001 to 2006, they pursued a degree in Bioinformatics, obtaining a Dipl.-Ing.(FH) qualification. Following that, they attended the University of Portsmouth, where they pursued a PhD from 2006 to 2009. Dr Frederic'sPhD research focused on Data Mining, Distributed Computing, and Parallel Rule Induction. Lastly, from 2013 to 2015, Dr Stahl furthered their education in Higher Education at the Higher Education Academy, earning the distinction of being a Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
