Sam Hill is an experienced professional in the fields of optics and artificial intelligence, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since August 2021. Sam is also a Co-Founder of QBITFLOW GmbH within the JAAI Group since October 2022. Previously, Sam held positions including Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration at Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft, CEO at Rogers Sciences Inc, and Optical/Software Engineering Consultant at Headwall Photonics. Sam's extensive background in research includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at both the MIT Media Lab and the University of Arizona, as well as a Lab Assistant at the University of Rochester. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Media Technology - Optics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and another Master’s in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Imaging and Photo Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
