Simon Ostermann

Simon Ostermann is a Senior Researcher and Lab Manager at the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since November 2021, overseeing a research group of over 20 employees and managing project administration and finances. Prior to this role, Simon served as a Senior Research Scientist and Technical Lead at Cerence Inc., where leadership was provided to a research team focused on natural language understanding in the automotive sector. Simon's academic background includes significant research experience at Saarland University as a PhD student and research assistant, along with a visiting research stint at The University of Edinburgh, and earlier positions at SemVox GmbH. Simon holds a PhD in Language Science and Technology, a Master's degree in the same field, and a Bachelor's degree in Computational Linguistics, all from Universität des Saarlandes.
