Thomas Vögele has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Thomas started their career as a Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1991. Thomas then worked as a Staff Engineer at URS Corporation and later as a Senior Staff Engineer at Weiss Associates. In 1996, they joined Environmental Software & Services as a Project Manager. Thomas then worked at the Center for Computing Technologies - TZI as a Researcher & Ph.D. Student from 1998 to 2004. Following this, they held the position of Manager Federal Online Portal for Environmental Information at Niedersächsisches Umweltministerium from 2004 to 2007. Since November 2007, they have been working as a Senior Researcher and Head of International Business Development at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI).
Thomas Vögele obtained their MSc. degree in Geology/Hydrogeology from Freie Universität Berlin, where they attended from 1982 to 1990. Later, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Bremen from 1998 to 2004.
