Tom Slawik is a research engineer at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since February 2020. Their work focuses on R&D in Maritime Robotics, including optimal control, trajectory planning, machine learning for vehicle modeling and control, and software development in ROS, C/C++. Prior to this role, Tom was a student assistant at Leibniz Universität Hannover and intern at J.H.K. Gruppe in the field of wind energy. Tom also worked as a software engineer at HR Matching AG, specializing in backend development in PHP5 and MySQL. Tom holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science from Leibniz Universität Hannover, as well as an Abitur from Berufsbildende Schulen Verden in Informationstechnik.
