A specialist in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and robotics, Yi Ma is currently a professor in residence at Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at University of California, Berkeley. Previously, he served as lead researcher and director of the computer vision team at Microsoft Research. He also served as an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois. In 2013, he was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for contributions to computer vision and pattern recognition. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley’s EECS in 2000.
