Beginning with DHL Airways in 1982, Schmitt developed automated systems for aviation maintenance and led large-scale operational teams. Schmitt holds an Executive MBA in Finance from Cranfield University and a BS in Business and Aviation Administration from Northern Kentucky University, along with FAA Operating Certification.
