Peter Smit

Peter Smit serves as the Commercial Finance Director for the Control Division at Diageo, directing finance operations across 17 states since February 2016. Previously, Peter held various finance management roles at Diageo, including Commercial Finance Manager for North America Spirits and for Diageo Beer Company, overseeing significant financial functions such as planning, pricing, and P&L management. Peter's early career included positions at Brandhouse Beverages, where responsibilities ranged from Category Finance Analyst for the Whisky portfolio to Compliance Risk Analyst. Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance from the University of Cape Town, a National Certificate in Business Consulting from Deloitte Graduate Academy, and has completed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
