Tom Edrington has extensive work experience in the field of research and technology services. Tom started their career in 2001 at USDA-ARS as a Research Animal Scientist, focusing on pre-harvest food safety research in beef and dairy cattle. During their time there, they conducted research on Salmonella and E. coli O157:H7. In 2017, Tom joined Diamond V as a Ruminant Technical Specialist in Field Research and Food Safety. Tom later became the Director of Beef Research and Tech Services in January 2021.
Tom Edrington has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Animal Science from New Mexico State University, which they earned from 1984 to 1987. Tom then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Animal Science at the University of Arkansas from 1988 to 1990. Lastly, Tom obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ruminant Nutrition/Toxicology from New Mexico State University between 1990 and 1992.
