Based in Kraków, DICO S.C. has been developing innovative mobile solutions for the Android platform since 2011. Our primary mission is to empower individuals with speech and communication impairments by leveraging accessible, cutting-edge mobile technology to support their daily lives and therapeutic progress.
We take pride in being the creators of MÓWik®, the first Polish mobile application dedicated to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Our portfolio has grown significantly over the years to include specialised tools such as GADAczek, MÓWik PRINT, MÓWik Book, and our series of thematic MÓWik Memory applications. Beyond software, we develop and distribute a comprehensive range of educational aids based on the MÓWik® symbol system, which stands as the first fully comprehensive AAC symbol set tailored specifically for the Polish language.
At DICO, we are deeply committed to raising awareness and mitigating the challenges faced by non-verbal individuals through dedicated training and advocacy. Our solutions are continuously refined by an interdisciplinary team of speech therapists, graphic designers, and software engineers. Notably, the latest version of our software was developed under the scientific supervision of Professor Mirosław Michalik from the Pedagogical University of Kraków.
Our dedication to the field is further reflected in our academic contributions. In 2023, our team and collaborators co-authored a professional book on the implementation of AAC systems, published by Wydawnictwo Harmonia in partnership with the University of Gdańsk. This publication highlights our ongoing commitment to evidence-based practice and our role in shaping the future of communication support.
