John Kelly has a diverse work experience. John started their career in 2007 as an Assistant Academic Director at the University of Cincinnati's GEARUP program, where they provided support for students in mathematics and science. John also served as a Summer Enrichment Camp Instructor, designing and teaching various classes.

In 2009, John worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Cincinnati Public Schools, providing support to students with special needs in multiple subjects.

From 2010 to 2013, they were a Project Manager at the University of Cincinnati's Evaluation Services Center. In this role, they managed and analyzed data for evaluation projects, including an environmental health consortium and a childhood resiliency study.

John Kelly has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction, which they received from the University of Cincinnati between 2010 and 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from Xavier University, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. In 2003 and 2004, John was enrolled at The George Washington University as a B.A. Candidate, focusing on Latin & Chinese.
