Nihar Talele is a Software Engineer at DiDi, focusing on Planning and Control for Autonomous Driving since January 2021. Prior to this role, Nihar was a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from September 2014 to January 2021, where contributions included applying trajectory optimization methods to a 5 link planar biped model and developing meshing tools for performance improvement in real-world scenarios. Nihar also served as a Teaching Assistant, supervising undergraduate students in various engineering courses. In 2019, Nihar interned at Alcon as a Software Engineering Intern, where optimization frameworks for path planning in robotic manipulators were developed using C++. Nihar holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
