João Orvalho

João Orvalho has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. João is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Didimo, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, they were the Head of Technology at Didimo from October 2018 to May 2022.

João is also a Co-Founder of Face In Motion since 2007. The company focuses on automating the rigging process in animation production and has worked on projects with renowned studios such as Blur Studios in the USA, Microsoft in Portugal, and Dygra films in Spain.

Before joining Didimo and Face In Motion, João held several roles at Scytl Innovating Democracy. João was the Delivery Technical Director from September 2016 to June 2018, responsible for managing engineering teams and delivering secure electoral solutions globally. João also served as the Director of Software Engineering from January 2011 to September 2016, overseeing customization centric projects based on Scytl's product line. Prior to this, João was a Software Development Manager at Scytl, contributing to the development of secure electronic voting and participation systems for various public and private sectors.

João's previous experiences include working as a Senior Programmer at Cast-Info for a brief period in 2004 and as a Senior Programmer at IT Deusto from November 2003 to April 2004. João was also a researcher at INESC Porto, focusing on ORBIT, an Object Re-configurable Broadcast Infrastructure Trial, from September 1999 to September 2003. João started their career with an internship at ENT – Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicações from August 1997 to November 1997.

João Orvalho obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computing Engineering from an unknown institution between 1994 and 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Networks and Communication Systems from an undisclosed school between 2001 and 2003. In November 2011, they obtained the Scrum Manager Certified certification from Scrum Manager.
