David is a seasoned business growth professional who has honed his expertise over thirty plus years delivering excellence in execution and rising through the ranks of major Silicon Valley corporations to executive leadership positions. Today, he is Chairman of Push Technologies Board of Directors lending his steady hand to the company’s growth and market success. He also advises other private technology companies and mentors executives. Earlier in his career, David was Senior Vice President of Enterprise Servers, Storage, and networking and Senior Vice President and general manager of HP’s StorageWorks Division where he was responsible for building on the company’s foundation as a leading provider of storage solutions and pursuing new opportunities for growth worldwide. Prior to that, Dave was CEO of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), after serving as president and chief operating officer and spending 26 years in key executive management positions with HDS. During his tenure as CEO, David led HDS as it evolved into a leading global storage solutions company and was instrumental in building the company's global channel and securing business partnerships. David began his technology career at Amdahl Corporation in 1980, following posts as adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law and research director at Hastings College of Law. David has served as a board member on a wide array of both public and private companies, spanning industries from semiconductors to computer gaming to IT services. In addition to his position as Chairman of the Board for Push Technology, he currently serves as a board member for Quantum Corporation, Brocade Communication Systems Inc., and SwiftStack, Inc. and he was a past board member for International Game Technology (IGT) and Hitachi Data Systems Corporation. Dave received a bachelor’s degree in social ecology from the University of California at Irvine, a law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco and he studied financial management at Harvard Business School.
