Derrick Luong has a diverse work experience. In 2016, they began working at DigiLens Inc. as a Senior Print Process Engineer, and held other roles at the company such as Printing Engineer III, Printing Engineer II, R&D Chemist II, and R&D Technician / Chemist. In 2014, they began working at the University of San Francisco as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they worked in Professor Jeff Curtis' research group doing Ruthenium ammine complex synthesis, characterization, spectroscopy investigation, and data collection. In 2009, they began working at Math Enrichment as a Teacher Aide for Summer School, where they tutored students from grade 4-6 and graded coursework, kept attendance, and overlooked a classroom with 30 students from 9-am – 4pm every weekday of the program. In 2011, they began working at Yogurtland as a Cashier, where they assisted customers and fulfilled their requests in order to ensure a quality experience, and restocked, monitored, and maintained inventory and products of the store.
Derrick Luong graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry.
