Gerald Buxton

Director Optical Engineering at DigiLens

Gerald Buxton has had a varied work experience over the past decade. From 2010 to 2014 they worked as a Head Coach/Player for UO Men's Club Soccer. In 2012 they were an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Oregon. That same year they were a Student Researcher at Astronomical Spectroscopy Research, where they were awarded the 2013 Jim Girard Scholarship for "outstanding work" and "strong leadership skills". In 2013 they were a Student Researcher at Dr. Dean Livelybrooks Geophysics Research Group. From 2014 to 2017 they worked at Digilens/SBG Labs as an Electro-Optical Engineer, where they were an integral member of the team that won "Best In Show" and San Francisco Display Conference. In 2014 they were a Staff Coach at FC Portland Academy. In 2015 they were an Assistant Coach at Lincoln High School. From 2016 to 2017 they worked at Intel as a Product Engineer. From 2017 to present they have been at DigiLens Inc., where they have held the roles of Director Optical Engineering, Optical Production Manager, Senior Optical Systems Engineer, and Optical Engineer.

Gerald Buxton completed a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Oregon between 2010 and 2014. Gerald then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Applied Physics-Optical Materials and Devices from the same University, which they completed in 2015.
