David Bauer

David Bauer is a seasoned technology and cybersecurity expert with extensive experience in strategic advisory roles and corporate governance. As the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Holding Ground Decision Intelligence LLC since January 2020, David provides independent strategic technology assessments for investment firms and executives. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors at Guidewire Software and chairing the Cybersecurity Advisory Board at Security Leadership Capital, David also contributes as faculty at IANS and as an advisor for various organizations, including Digital Asset, Byos, and DeepFactor. Previous roles include Managing Partner at Sand Hill East, where David advised early-stage companies, and serving as Security and Privacy Advisor at The Macaluso Group, where responsibilities included Chief Security, Privacy, and Compliance Officer. David holds a BA (with high honors) and an MS in Computer Science from Rutgers University and an AAS in Data Processing from Thames Valley State Technical College.
