David McCanney

David McCanney has over 20 years of experience in information technology, starting as a computer technician in Spectrum Fine Arts and later working in David Urquhart Travel as an IT Support Supervisor. David became a Systems Integration Engineer in KANA Software and then a Group IT Specialist in Anthony Nicholas Group, where they designed and managed technology infrastructure. David worked as a Systems Infrastructure Administrator in Loganair Limited, where they designed and built cloud and on-premises systems, storage, and network infrastructure. Currently, they work as a DevOps Engineer in Digital Barriers, where they utilize their experience in DevOps and infrastructure to support the company's initiatives.

David McCanney holds a Master of Science degree in Cyber Security from the University of Strathclyde, which they earned from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland from 2004 to 2005. David also obtained a DipHE (General Science) from the University of Glasgow from 1995 to 1997. In addition to their degrees, they hold several certifications including Information Storage Associate Version 2 from Dell EMC, Juniper Networks Certified Associate, Junos (JNCIA-Junos) from Juniper Networks, and Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) from Cisco. David is also an IBM Certified Specialist: Power Systems Technical Support for AIX and Linux.
