Senior Video Codec Engineer at Digital Barriers

Mike Copperwhite has a diverse work experience of over 30 years, dating back to their time as an Engineer at Cryogenic Consultants in 1989. Mike then worked as a Software Developer at Finnigan MAT before moving on to work at Eidos Technologies as a Software Developer where they were involved in writing video compression codecs in C/C++ and assembler. Mike then worked as a Software Architect at Avid Technology for over a decade where they worked on Sibelius, a music notation software, where they led the codebase transition from low-level platform APIs to Qt, and from 8-bit ASCII to a fully Unicode application. Their role as Senior Software Engineer at Telestream involved working on ContentAgent workflow automation software development, mainly focusing on driving the transition from CPU to GPU processing and low bit-depth to high bit-depth colour capability. Finally, they were hired by Digital Barriers as a Senior Video Codec Engineer to work on video compression and decompression algorithms.

Mike Copperwhite attended Imperial College London from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained a Bsc Hons degree in Mathematics.
