Mark Smith is currently the Director of Research at Digital Inquiry Group, a position held since 2024. Previously, Mark served as the Director of Assessment for the Stanford History Education Group and was a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Stanford University from 2008 to 2014. Mark also gained experience as a history teacher at Cedar Rapids Community School District, Plano ISD, and Castilleja School. Mark obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Social Studies Education from the University of Iowa and completed a PhD in Education at Stanford University.
