Heather Singmaster is Director, CTE and GCEN, at Digital Promise where her work focuses on international best practices in education and the integration of global career readiness skills into Career Technical Education (CTE) programs. Heather leads the Global Cities Education Network (GCEN), an international network of cities focused on sharing best practices in education. Currently, she is working on a project to support community college faculty in internationalizing their courses to benefit all students.
In addition to speaking and writing regularly on global education, including as the former host of Education Week’s Global Learning blog for eight years, Heather delivers professional development workshops for K-12 and postsecondary educators. Heather worked at the Center for Global Education at Asia Society for 18 years and is excited to continue this work at Digital Promise. Previously she held positions at the Council on Foreign Relations, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Office of the United States Trade Representative.
Heather holds a master’s degree focused in Anthropology from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. She is proud to serve on the board of the Longview Foundation for World Affairs and International Understanding.
