Edward Knutson

Ed Knutson has over 30 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry. Ed founded Dimation Inc. in 2004 and served as CEO, focusing on providing high-level service and expertise in various packaging technologies. In 2011, they joined Vieira Systems Inc. as the Director of Business Development, contributing to the development of new technologies for industries such as defense and medical. In their role as President of the SMTA Upper Midwest Chapter since 2017, they have been actively involved in promoting and advancing surface mount technology. Throughout their career, they have held positions such as Production Systems Manager at Analog Technologies Corp, Process Specialist at Bermai, Hybrid Specialist/SMT Programming Engineer at Banner Engineering, and Manufacturing Supervisor/Hybrid Specialist at Datakey Electronics and Phillips Circuit Assembly. These roles allowed him to gain extensive experience in leadership, technical support, process improvement, and product yield optimization. Ed started their career at Sperry Univac in 1983, specializing in prototype packaging and obtaining knowledge in total quality management and just-in-time practices.

Ed Knutson has a comprehensive education history. Ed first pursued their studies at Inver Hills Community College from 1980 to 1983, where they obtained an associate degree in Avionics. Following this, they attended Inver Hills Community College again from 1992 to 1994, earning an associate degree in Law/Certified Paralegal. In 1999, Ed Knutson attended Crown College, where they obtained the Microsoft MCSE certification and became a certified Network Engineer.
