Seppo Tikkanen

Seppo Tikkanen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering and management within both academic and industrial settings. Currently serving as Senior Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC Oy since June 2019, Seppo manages various programs, including PoDoCo, InDEx, Fairway, and Smarter. Previously, from April 2013 to June 2019, Seppo held the position of Professor at Tampere University, focusing on Machine Automation and energy-efficient systems while leading the Doctoral School of Industrial Innovations. Seppo's earlier roles include serving as CTO at FIMECC Oy, where responsibilities encompassed program management and strategic research agenda creation, and Section Manager at Bosch Rexroth, overseeing project management and system concept development. Seppo began a career as a researcher at Tampere University of Technology, leading research groups and managing Tekes-funded projects. Educationally, Seppo holds a Doctor of Technology in Machine Automation and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tampere University of Technology.
