Principal Linux Engineer at Dimension Data

Cami Sardinha has extensive experience in Linux engineering and administration. Cami started their career as a web designer at Approach Technologies in 1996, where they also performed security auditing and administration of Apache and Sendmail mail systems. In 1997, they worked as a Junior Linux Administrator at ITI Online, focusing on email and DNS administration. Cami then joined Digital One in 2000 as a Senior Linux Administrator, specializing in ISP infrastructure design and maintenance of fault-tolerant Unix/Linux servers. Cami later joined MWEB in 2001 as a Senior Linux Engineer, where they worked on Linux administration and research and development on open-source technologies and DevOps practices. Finally, Cami joined Dimension Data in 2010 as a Principal Linux Engineer. At Dimension Data, they were responsible for Linux level 3 support and troubleshooting, automation of tasks, and mentoring. Cami also worked on various projects, including the development of a CMDB, Linux honeypot deployment, and the establishment of a Linux automation practice. Cami has received various awards and certifications throughout their career, including the AZ103 (Azure Administrator Associate) certification and an award for their achievement in building a CMDB.

Cami Sardinha obtained a Diploma in Organizational Leadership from RED Learning Solutions in 2014. In 1996, they also completed an N1 degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Wingfield Technical College. Additionally, Cami holds various certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, Digital Forensics Essentials (DFE) from EC-Council, Ethical Hacking Essentials (EHE) from EC-Council, and Linux Professional Institute - LPIC-3 - Linux Enterprise Security Professional from Linux Professional Institute (LPI). Cami has also obtained certifications in Network Defense Essentials (NDE) from EC-Council, Linux Professional Institute - LPIC-2 - Linux Engineer from Linux Professional Institute (LPI), and Linux Professional Institute - LPIC-1 - Linux Administrator from Linux Professional Institute (LPI). In addition to these, Cami Sardinha is certified as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Finally, they also hold the certification of Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft, which was obtained in 2019.
