Sylvia Rissell

Simulation Engineer at Dimensional Control Systems

Sylvia Rissell has a diverse range of work experience. Sylvia started their career as an Engineer at VSE Corporation in 1991, where they performed test development, monitoring, and data analysis. Sylvia also gained experience in failure analysis and engineering analysis of rotary mechanical systems. After working at VSE Corporation until 1994, Sylvia moved on to General Motors, where they worked as a Design Engineer for 14 years. At General Motors, they were responsible for creating and maintaining transmission subsystem layouts, implementing geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards, and creating tolerance stacks. In 2010, Sylvia joined Waltonen Engineering as a Dimensional Management Engineer, where they worked until 2011. During their time at Waltonen Engineering, they focused on dimensional management and quality control. Most recently, Sylvia has been employed at Dimensional Control Systems since 2011, initially starting as an Engineer and later transitioning to the role of Simulation Engineer.

Sylvia Rissell holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering which they obtained from Purdue University in 2002. Prior to pursuing their Master's degree, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland from 1984 to 1988.
