Michael Schaefer

Michael Schaefer is the president of GMSI where he oversees the company’s overall strategy and day-to-day operations. A seasoned executive with more than two decades of experience, Schaefer is a recognized expert in creating and implementing executive big picture development plans.

At GMSI, Schaefer leads the networking and telecommunications teams, as well as manages GMSI’s client relationships. He is responsible for ensuring the company delivers quality service and manages projects effectively, on time and within budget.

Prior to joining GMSI, Schaefer served as president of High Velocity Services, a VA-certified SDVOSB and leading provider of cloud, mobile, health and security solutions. He also held management positions at Digital Management and Promethean Light and Preferred Systems Solutions. Earlier in his career, he served as a program manager at Micron Technologies and WorldCom/MCI/Verizon after spending more than 11 years in the Navy.

He holds an MBA in Global Technology Management from George Washington University.
