Tom Thackston

Tom Thackston is a seasoned professional in the energy marketing sector with extensive experience in legal and business development roles. Currently serving as Director of Origination at NRG Energy Services LLC since January 2021, Tom has a history of leadership in power and natural gas markets, having held a similar position at Direct Energy since 2014. Prior to these roles, Tom was Head of Legal Energy Marketing and Assistant Secretary at Hess Corporation from 2008 to 2014, overseeing legal matters in commercial transactions and compliance. Tom's career began at Public Service Enterprise Group, where as Assistant General Counsel from 1998 to 2008, responsibilities included regulatory support during significant company restructuring. Tom holds a Juris Doctor degree in Utility Regulation from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from NYU Stern School of Business.
