Michael Occhipinti has worked in various roles in the IT industry since 1999. Michael began their career as a Desktop Support Specialist at The Hotchkiss School in 1999. In 2002, they became a Business Unit Relationship Manager (consultant) at GEMINI SYSTEMS. Michael then moved on to NYSE Euronext in 2004, where they served as Director Regulatory Systems Development & Operations. In 2014, they took on the role of Client Value Executive at Essextec. In 2015, they became Director, Software Engineering, Dealer Track Platform at Dealertrack, and was later promoted to Director of Platform and Production Engineering. In 2020, they were hired as an IT Security Analyst - Governance, Risk & Compliance at Think BRQ. Most recently, in 2021, they became Director Vendor Risk Management & IT at DirectBooks, where they are responsible for leading IS & IT implementation for organization Information Security certification, developing and managing the incident response/disaster recovery playbook, implementing and overseeing corporate Security Awareness and Policy Attestation training, and developing, implementing, and managing Information Security policies, procedures, and standards.

Michael Occhipinti is currently enrolled in the CISO Program at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and is expected to graduate in 2022. Prior to this, they attended Queensborough Community College, where they earned an Associate of Applied Arts (AAA) in Business Management Marketing and was placed on the Dean's List. Michael has also attended the University of Phoenix.
