Dean Bakes has had a successful career in the fashion industry. Dean began their career in 2014 as the Founder & CEO of Charles Dean, LLC. In the same year, they also served as an Associate in Wholesale at Ralph Lauren. In 2016, they were the Creative Director at Michael Andrews Bespoke, where they launched and designed the company's e-commerce platform. In 2017, they became the Managing Partner at Amazing Grace Ventures, where they backed friends such as Disco, Alt, Pipe, Settle, Daring, Mud/Wtr, Foxtrot, Real, Rhone, Jaanuu, Eco, MarketerHire, Nacelle, Supersapiens, Blackcart, Violet, Capital, Smartrr, Saie Beauty, and Crown Affair. In 2018, they were the Principal at Beliade. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Head of Sales and Chief of Staff at Disco.

Dean Bakes attended The Hotchkiss School from 2007 to 2010 and Dartmouth College from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics.
