Casey O. started their career in 1996 as an Intern Intake Specialist at the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis. In 1997, they moved to Legal Aid Society, Manhattan as an Intern Investigator. In 2002, they joined the Organic Consumers Association as General Counsel, Project Manager and Partnerships. In 2004, they founded Oppenheim Law, where they collaboratively worked with large firms and top attorneys to represent internet based entities and individuals. In 2011, they co-founded Disconnect, Inc., where they work to improve the internet and world by empowering people and organizations to exercise their right to privacy.

Casey O. attended Bates College, followed by the University of Minnesota, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in History and Theater Arts (and Film). Casey then attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where they obtained a JD, Cum Laude, and was awarded the Royal Stone Scholarship. Finally, they completed a semester abroad at Victoria University of Wellington.
