Yang Liu

Yang Liu, Ph.D., is a seasoned data scientist with a strong focus on machine learning. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Discord since September 2022, Yang previously held senior data science positions at Endpoint and Thrive Market, where contributions included building and productionalizing recommender engines for web and mobile platforms using advanced machine learning techniques. Yang's experience in research spans from 2013 to 2018 as a Research Assistant in the Robotics & Automation Laboratory at UC Irvine. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Robotics and Automation and a Master of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from UC Irvine, along with a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology.
