John Volk

John Volk currently serves as Principal Counsel at The Walt Disney Company since October 2021. Prior to this, John held the position of Entertainment and Digital Media Associate at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP from March 2021 to October 2021, and served as Executive Director and Director of Worldwide Television Distribution at Sony Pictures Entertainment from May 2017 to March 2021. John began a legal career as a Corporate Associate Attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from September 2013 to May 2017, after completing a Summer Associate role with the firm in 2012. Previous experience includes a law clerk position at the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship in 2011 and a role in the Disney Interactive Media Group at The Walt Disney Company from February 2009 to August 2010. John's early career included a position in Consumer Affairs at PepsiCo - Frito Lay from June 2007 to February 2009. Educational credentials consist of a JD from the University of Chicago Law School (2013) and a BA in English from The University of Kansas (2008).
