Julia Bayless

Julia Bayless has a diverse work experience that includes roles as a Software Engineer at Dispatch and Kyros. At Kyros, they were involved in creating accessibility for care in the substance use community and worked closely with product, HIPAA, and engineering experts to shape the web portal, mobile interface, and API of the app. Julia contributed to initiatives aimed at improving user engagement and experience, including launching the web portal into production and developing innovative features for the mobile and web interfaces.

Before transitioning to a career in software engineering, Julia worked as a Registered Nurse at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Regency Hospital Company. As a nurse, they utilized the nursing process, acted as a liaison for patients, and fostered a supportive and positive work environment.

Additionally, Julia has experience as a Performing Artist, where they co-founded and operated Black Hearts Burlesque, taught seminars and classes, and fundraised for nonprofit organizations. Julia also served as a Campaign Manager for Tarrence4Ward4, where they developed campaign and community outreach strategies and created marketing materials.

Julia's journey in software engineering began with their enrollment in the Fullstack Software Engineer Student program at Prime Digital Academy, where they gained a strong foundation in fullstack development and honed their skills as a developer. Julia Bayless holds a Fullstack Software Engineering Certification from Prime Digital Academy, which they obtained in 2022. Before that, they attended Minneapolis College from 2015 to 2017, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.
