Simon McManis

Simon McManis has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Simon is currently working as a Junior Software Engineer at Displayr since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at GlamCorner as a Software Engineer from October 2021 to July 2022. Simon also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Academic Event Services from March 2020 to October 2020. Their early career included a role as a Data Scientist at CSIRO's Data61, where they worked on a project involving feature selection algorithms in machine learning for disease diagnosis. Simon's accomplishments at Data61 include building a Python toolkit for generating, evaluating, and optimizing these algorithms in machine learning pipelines. This toolkit demonstrated effectiveness in identifying cancer biomarkers in genetic datasets.

Simon McManis attended the University of Technology Sydney from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering with Honours, specializing in Computer Science. Prior to their university education, Simon completed their Higher School Certificate at Saint Ignatius' College Riverview. In addition to their formal education, Simon obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in April 2023.
