Laurent U.

Laurent U. has extensive work experience in the medical technology industry. Laurent has held several leadership positions, including Vice President of Global Marketing, Product, Education & Medical Affairs at Distalmotion since 2024 and Vice President of Product, Education & Medical Affairs from 2022 to 2023. In these roles, they were responsible for product management, clinical development, clinical trial design and execution, scientific evidence generation, and training of surgeons and OR staff. Prior to Distalmotion, Laurent worked at Edwards Lifesciences, where they served as Product Marketing Director and Senior Product Marketing Manager for Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies. Before that, they held various positions at St. Jude Medical and Endosense, primarily in marketing and product management roles. Laurent's expertise also includes strategic marketing consulting for life sciences companies at Alcimed. Laurent holds a PhD in applied signal processing from Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and has conducted extensive research in the field of biomedical engineering.

Laurent U. received a PhD in Medical device engineering & data sciences from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2008 to 2011. In 2005 to 2007, they obtained an Msc in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Biomedical Signal Processing from the same institution. Laurent also completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Management of Biotech, Medtech & Pharma Ventures from EPFL in 2012 to 2013.
