Holding and transporting live seafood presents significant challenges due to the rapid build-up of toxic ammonia and other harmful byproducts in closed-system tanks. This harsh environment stresses the animals, leading to mortality, reduced quality, and increased waste.
DistanSea offers innovative water treatment solutions designed to overcome these challenges and create a stable, non-toxic environment for live seafood throughout the supply chain. Our patented technology effectively removes harmful ammonia and controls other critical water parameters, enabling customers to efficiently and cost-effectively transport and hold live seafood across various distances and durations.
Key Benefits of DistanSea's Solutions:
•	Increased Profitability: Higher survival rates, reduced operational costs, and the ability to reach new markets translate to significant improvements in profitability.
•	Significant Cost Reduction: Achieve up to 70% reduction in transport costs by enabling higher stocking densities and longer transport times, potentially replacing expensive air freight with sea freight.
•	Reduced Carbon Footprint: Contribute to environmental sustainability with up to 90% reduction in carbon emissions by shifting to more energy-efficient transport methods and minimizing mortality.
•	Enhanced Food Quality: Maintain the freshness, vitality, and taste of live seafood, ensuring premium quality upon arrival and extending the time available for sale.
Our initial product, an easy-to-integrate add-on to existing live seafood transport and holding systems (Local ART), has undergone successful pilots in a large brown crabs holding facility. And on King Crabs in crustacean seafood company in Norway.
DistanSea is committed to transforming the live seafood industry by providing reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable water treatment solutions that benefit businesses, consumers, and the environment.
