Paul Ringseth

Paul Ringseth has a diverse work experience in the software industry. Paul is currently working as a Software Architect at Distributive since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Paul F Ringseth, Inc. as a Software Architect since 1996.

In 2017, Paul served as the Managing Director at Light AI LLC until September 2020. Before that, they worked at Microsoft Research as a Principal Rogue from April 2016 to October 2017, where they contributed to Microsoft's genomics product and achieved significant performance improvements in SNAP and BWA using the Intel AVX2 instruction set.

From 2013 to 2015, Paul held the position of Principal SDE at Predixion and worked on innovative projects. Paul then joined Intellectual Ventures as a Principal Software Engineer in 2012, where they worked on contagious disease epidemiological modeling for the Global Good Campaign and utilized math and distributed compute graphs.

Paul also has experience working at Microsoft, where they had various roles. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Principal SDE at Microsoft (Bayesian Magic), specializing in machine learning, Bayesian statistics, econometrics, and more. Paul also worked as a Principal SDE at Microsoft (HPC Server) from 2007 to 2011, focusing on MPI, optimizing algorithms, and GPGPUs. Earlier in their career, they were an SDE at Microsoft (BizTalk Server) from 2001 to 2007, where they gained experience in language design, compiler, UI interaction, and large customer support.

Paul's career at Microsoft started in 1996 as an SDE at Microsoft (Visual C++ Compiler Developer) and also spent time working in QA.

Paul Ringseth attended the University of Washington from 1976 to 1986. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Economics, and Statistics.
