Principal Cloud Architect at Dito

Peter Goldthorp has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. Peter began their career as an Officer in the Royal Air Force in 1988. Following their service, they co-founded Visulate in 2007, where they worked as a Co-Founder and Software Architect until 2014. During this time, they designed and developed a multi-tenant SaaS application for rental property management. Additionally, they managed an offshore development team and oversaw the creation of a comprehensive database for properties and companies in Florida.

In 1992, Peter joined Oracle and served as a Senior Software Architect until 2015. During this time, they led a prominent project for Larry Ellison's keynote at Oracle Open World 2009. Their responsibilities included designing and implementing a patch conflict checker for My Oracle Support, enabling customers to perform predictive patch conflict analysis.

From 2015 to 2019, Peter worked at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a Senior Software Developer. Here, they were a founding member of the Oracle API Catalog Cloud Service development team. Peter played a crucial role in Agile project management, data model design, UI design, and the development of a repository for Oracle's IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS REST APIs.

In 2019, Peter founded Visulate and took on the role of Chief Software Architect. Peter established the company as a specialized provider of tools for Oracle database migrations to GCP. By February 2020, Visulate became a Google Cloud Platform Build Partner, and in September 2020, their first product was released on the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Currently, Peter is working as a Principal Cloud Architect at Dito. Peter is responsible for the migration of 50 core business systems of the Utah Department of Transportation to Google Bare Metal Solution. These systems were developed over the years using older versions of Oracle software and needed to be moved to the cloud while utilizing existing Oracle licenses.

Peter Goldthorp attended the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell in 1988. Peter does not hold a degree or have a specified field of study from this institution. In addition, Peter has obtained two certifications: Professional Cloud Security Engineer from Google in June 2021 and Professional Cloud Architect from Google in March 2021.
