Sam Kochanski

Software Engineer II at divvyDOSE

Sam Kochanski worked as a Software Engineer II at divvyDOSE starting in September 2021. In this role, Sam designed and developed enhancements to an event-driven microservice that handled insurance adjudication for over 14,000 customers. Sam also implemented a major update to the codebase's serverless computing platform while understanding and reconciling breaking changes that would impact existing infrastructure.

Before that, Sam worked as a Software Engineer I at Cerner Corporation from July 2019 to August 2021. In this role, Sam developed and deployed a cloud-native microservice to help internal stakeholders integrate with the company's critical ITSM system. The microservice provided users with simplified access to complex data models in a performant and scalable manner. Sam also supported the team's initiative to retire antiquated on-prem monolithic services and replace them with scalable, cloud-native microservices using Tanzu, Kafka for real-time data streaming, and MongoDB Atlas for horizontally-scalable persistent data storage.

Sam Kochanski obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies, and Humanities from Greenfield Community College between 2014 and 2016. Following this, Sam pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which was completed in the years 2017 to 2019.
