Unicode is a student chapter of Computer Engineering Department at Dwarkadas J Sanghvi College of Engineering. It was founded in 2017, by students who wished to  encapsulate a 'summer of code'​ paradigm for a set of sophomores mentored by junior and senior-year undergraduate students - teaching them programming to a level where they are now familiar with not only software development but also associated tools for version control and remote collaboration. 

With the motto "You and I Code"​, Unicode provides selected students the opportunity to work in teams on open source collaborations. Teams consist of a Team Lead (fourth-year students), Mentors (third-year students), and Mentees (second-year students). The teams work on several development projects which are designed and aimed to solve critical issues in the institution.

The Unicode culture is fiercely curious, helpful and empowering. The chapter has been applauded by several faculty members and has alumni placed all over the globe!
