Brian Smith

Brian Smith is currently a Managing Director at DLA Piper in Houston, TX, where they leverage over 20 years of international experience in white-collar matters to provide compliance and investigative services. They have a comprehensive background in mechanical engineering and previously served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI, along with nine years in-house at GE and Morgan Lewis. Throughout their career, Brian has led investigations in more than 80 countries and has worked with various enforcement and regulatory agencies including the DOJ and SEC. They are dedicated to tailoring specific solutions for clients to navigate complex global compliance challenges while mitigating risk and protecting reputations. Brian earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
