Gerald Rokoff

Gerald Rokoff is a Partner in the Transactional Tax Practice at DLA Piper, where expertise includes advising clients on avoiding taxable presence in the United States, mitigating effectively connected income, and utilizing tax treaties to eliminate federal excise tax on insurance premiums. Additionally, Gerald navigates complex compliance issues under FATCA and provides guidance on specialized rules for insurance companies within controlled foreign corporation and passive foreign investment company frameworks. Prior to this role, Gerald served as a Tax Partner and Chair of the Global Tax Planning Committee at White & Case LLP and completed a clerkship for The Honorable Irving R. Kaufman at the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. Gerald holds a J.D. in Tax Law/Taxation from Yale Law School and a bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University.
