Michael Heene

Michael Heene is a Partner and head of the Corporate M&A practice at DLA Piper in Belgium, with a notable achievement of leading the 9-person team move from CMS Antwerp in September 2024. Previously, Michael served as a Managing Associate in the Corporate M&A team at Linklaters, where responsibilities included working on high-profile, cross-border transactions with a focus on financial institutions and fintech. Michael’s career began with a summer internship at Allen & Overy, followed by a secondment as legal counsel at RBS International. Michael holds an LL.M. in European and French law from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, a Master’s Degree in Law from Ghent University, and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Finance from KU Leuven, among other educational qualifications.
