Sean Cunningham

Sean Cunningham is a partner in patent litigation at DLA Piper, where they have spent nearly three decades advocating for major technology and medical device companies. Ranked by Chambers, Sean has handled over 40 cases at the International Trade Commission, often as lead counsel, and has taken over cases for trial from other firms. Their notable experience includes the jury trial of the Cornell v. Hewlett-Packard case, which resulted in a landmark ruling on patent damages. Since 2022, Sean has also served as the Global Co-Chair and US Chair for Intellectual Property & Technology at DLA Piper. Sean earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas between 1991 and 1994.
