Thomas Fausten is currently Of Counsel at DLA Piper, having joined the firm in October 2019. With over 25 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, Fausten previously worked as a Claims Director for Swiss Re Group from 1994 to 2017 and held the position of Director at Chubb Insurance from 1988 to 1994. Fausten specializes in complex claims, particularly in product liability and international insurance law, and is a former member of the Casualty Claims Working Group of the German Insurance Association (GDV). Fausten was awarded a Ph.D. in law in 2001 from the University of Heidelberg.
