Wendy Smith

Wendy Smith is a Senior Associate at DLA Piper since August 2022, previously serving as a Senior Solicitor at Russell McVeagh from July 2017 to August 2022, where Wendy was also a Solicitor. Wendy was seconded to Sovereign as Legal Counsel in early 2018, contributing to the completion of the sale of Sovereign to AIA. Prior to that, Wendy held the position of Corporate Legal Executive and later provided Legal Support at Chorus NZ Limited from January 2012 to June 2017, while completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Victoria University of Wellington between 2014 and 2017. Wendy began their legal career as a Legal Support Officer at the Commerce Commission from October 2007 to January 2012, during which time Wendy also earned a Diploma in Legal Executive from Whitireia Polytechnic (2008-2010).
